Generate an API key
Go to Settings in your mailservr dashboard and create an API key. Copy it once — you'll paste it into your password manager.
Generate a unique mailservr alias every time you create a new login in Bitwarden. No context switching. Add API access when you choose Plus or Max.
Bitwarden / compatible custom-provider clients
Go to Settings in your mailservr dashboard and create an API key. Copy it once — you'll paste it into your password manager.
In Bitwarden, select SimpleLogin or Addy.io as the forwarded email service. Set the server URL to your mailservr instance and paste your API key.
When you create a new login, your password manager calls mailservr to generate a unique alias. The alias is saved with your credentials automatically.
Works with Bitwarden desktop, web vault, browser extension, and mobile apps. Use either SimpleLogin mode (API key only) or Addy.io mode (API key + domain selection).
Compatibility requires a SimpleLogin or Addy.io mode that accepts a custom server URL. A branded integration alone is not enough.

Yes. mailservr is compatible with Bitwarden's forwarded email alias feature. Select SimpleLogin or Addy.io as the service in Bitwarden, set the server URL to your mailservr instance, and paste your API key. Aliases are generated automatically when you create new logins.
Not as a direct alias provider. 1Password's Masked Email feature currently uses Fastmail and does not expose a custom SimpleLogin or Addy.io server URL.
Bitwarden is supported through its custom SimpleLogin and Addy.io server settings. Another client can connect only if it supports one of those protocols and lets you provide a custom server URL.
Password-manager alias generation is available on Plus and Max through an API key. There are no separate integration charges.
mailservr is a self-contained email alias service with a Free inbound tier and annual Plus and Max plans. You get a full inbox with threaded conversations, search, attachments, and an API, not just forwarding.
The API returns an error that the password manager will display. Delete an unused alias to free total capacity, pause an active alias to switch which addresses receive mail, or upgrade for higher limits.
Set up a private alias workflow, then use an annual API-enabled plan when you need automation.
